Malaysia has a tropical climate throughout the year, characterised by high humidity and temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). The country experiences two monsoon seasons, affecting different parts of the country at different times. The east coast experiences the wetter monsoon season from November to February, while the west coast experiences heavier rains from April to October. For travellers seeking sunny beach days and outdoor activities, the ideal time to visit the west coast, including popular destinations like Langkawi and Penang, is between December and March when the weather is relatively dry. Conversely, if you’re planning to explore the east coast, the best time to visit is from April to September when the monsoon subsides.

UK citizens can typically visit Malaysia for up to 90 days without a visa, but it’s essential to ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date.
