Autumn (September to November) offers mild temperatures, stunning foliage, and fewer crowds, making it perfect for exploring the cultural and historical sites. Winter (December to February) is a magical time to visit, with charming Christmas markets and the possibility of snow, especially in the countryside. 

In terms of visas, Hungary is a member of the Schengen Agreement, which allows citizens of many countries to visit Hungary for up to 90 days within a 180-day period without a visa. However, it is essential to check visa requirements based on your nationality before traveling.
